April Favorites

April has been incredibly busy. There is so much going on at work, and we’ve been extra busy around the house getting the outdoors and patio ready for spring and summer. We’ve also been busy planning an upcoming getaway for May which I am very excited about! It’s been a while since we went on a mini vacation, so I am very much looking forward to it!

This month, I also joined the Healthy Glow Co for 4 weeks of feel good inspiration and action via the Glow Good Challenge. It was about how making small changes adds up to big results, and incorporating new behaviors can be a catalyst for positive change in other areas of your life. Each day, they posted a prompt on Instagram and asked us to share right alongside them using the hashtag #glowgoodchallenge and #giveaway. There was also a challenge calendar to follow (see below) which served as a reminder to check in daily. The themes were Get Goal Oriented, Get Your Day Going, Get Active and Get Connected.

Here are some of my entries for the challenge/giveaway:

Alright, now onto the favorites!

{Health & Wellness}

Butternut squash fries? I think yes!

Dark souls rejoice! Goth ice cream is a thing and it’s here!

This beautiful golden milk has my name written all over it.

For all my wheezy ladies out there, 7 things you didn’t know about asthma.

The new Unicorn Frappuccino from Starbucks. Have you tried it? Thoughts?

This strawberry salsa looks amazing! It would be perfect with lime tortilla chips and margaritas (obvi).

If you’re a green smoothie lover, you need to try this one. It’s made with plenty of superfoods, nutritious fruit, and heart-healthy avocado. It’s refreshing and a great way to start your day!

I’ve been really into fresh and colorful breakfasts this month. It probably has something to do with the arrival of warmer weather (finally!!). Spring and summer always inspire me to eat lighter and colorfully. For this little bowl of goodness, I start with Creamy Coconut Yoso (you can also use vanilla or plain 0% greek yogurt), next I add little bit of my favorite healthy homemade granola, then coconut shavings, and some fresh fruit. So yummy, easy and nutritious!

LOVE Season 2 is now available on Netflix and I couldn’t be happier! I binge-watched the entire second season in 3 days (no judgment!). If you’re unfamiliar, LOVE is an American romantic comedy web television series created by Judd Apatow (Superbad, Knocked Up, The 40-Year-Old Virgin), Lesley Arfin, and Paul Rust, and starring Gillian Jacobs, Rust, and Claudia O’Doherty. The series is presented as a down-to-earth look at dating, exploring male and female perspectives on romantic relationships through the characters Mickey and Gus, played by Jacobs and Rust respectively. I very much enjoyed it and highly recommend!

{On My Wishlist}

Love this beautiful printed jacket, because I am a hopeless romantic and hippie at heart.

This refreshing beauty book written by world-renowned, and Burberry beauty consultant Wendy Rowe, contains beauty tips and over 70 easy and delicious recipes specifically designed to care for your skin by feeding it the nutrients it needs to glow from the inside out. Wendy’s approach is uncomplicated and holistic, and each one of her recipes correlates to an essential skin-feeding ingredient that will help target specific skin issues and common concerns. From cucumbers, limes, to pomegranates and carrots, you will also find breakdowns of the vitamins and nutrients each of these every day ingredients provide. Not only are there how-to’s for feeding your skin, but also pampering suggestions with recipes for homemade masks, scrubs, mists, cleansers and toners, as well as an informative section for confidence-zapping skin problems. What I really like about Eat Beautiful, is that the book is split into the four seasons. You can dip in and out of it, or follow it seasonally. It will ensure that you achieve beautiful, radiant skin year-round!

I found this beautiful cream trench coat at Winners the other day and the weather is finally nice enough to wear it! I also picked up this lovely print scarf for half off during the Aritzia Easter sale, and it goes perfectly with the trench. Springtime, I am ready for ya!

I’ve been living in these jeans. I just added this pair of CoH skinnies to my denim collection and loooove them! They’re made with super-stretch denim that fits like a glove and keeps its shape. The higher waist is also really flattering — it sucks everything in and smooths it all out. They fit true to size and the icon wash is the perfect dark blue with just enough fading to give it some depth and dimension. If you’re interested in CoH jeans but have never tried a pair before, the Rocket is by far my favorite style due to their incredibly flattering silhouette. I own another pair of Rocket Indie jeans and the two are my go-to denim. Truth be told, they are more of an investment piece, but the quality is truly exceptional which makes the splurge totally worth it. If I could only own one pair of jeans, these would definitely be it, no contest!

I hope you have the best weekend!
