Monthly Favorites: I’m baaack!

Hi guys! How are you doing on this lovely Friday morning? It’s been a while since I’ve written a blog post. Life got pretty busy these past few months and between working full time, working on my blog, the daily commute, trying to keep a social life, and not getting enough sleep, I felt like I was burning the candle at both ends. Sometimes a short break is all you really need to put things into perspective and reset your body and mind. But I’m back now and pretty excited to dive back into the blogging world!

February has been all about wellness and lifestyle changes for me. After going through some health issues last year, I decided to grab 2017 by the horns and make it my healthiest year yet. Now that I’m settled into this new routine and living a healthier much happier life, I want to share with you some of my favorite things. Let’s begin, shall we?

{Health & Wellness}

I really want to try this emerald green detox drink.

I just completed the amazing 6 week health & wellness program from the Healthy Glow Co. It was the best decision I ever made, not to mention a great way to jumpstart my health for the new year and keep it going well beyond! The Healthy Glow Collective is a community and resource that encourages women to live a healthier, vibrant lifestyle and glow from the inside out. Their signature program is a multi-week, flexible plan dedicated to providing you the tools you need to feel and look incredible, including workouts, meal plans, grocery lists and motivation from Monique and Lee (my two favorite healthy food bloggers).

I admire Monique and Lee so much and find them so inspirational. I love the way they inspire healthy mindsets and encourage positive relationships with fitness and food. I remember reading one of Monique’s blog posts where she wrote that she wanted to create a home full of love, cookies, and kale salads. It really resonated with me and made me want the same thing for my home!

In the program you’ll find amazing dishes such as carnitas burrito bowls, chilis, enchiladas, flourless cashew butter brownies, healthy cookies, salads and smoothies, tacos, and so much more. It’s all so delicious! If you’re interested in checking it out, visit and watch the trailer here. This program is seriously life-changing and the recipes are truly incredible. I feel better than I ever have in a really long time and cannot recommend it enough.

I’ve been reading a lot of great things about dry brushing, and its something I would really like to get into this year. Dry brushing is said to boost circulation, sweep away dead skin cells, stimulate the lymph nodes, improve digestion and the appearance of cellulite, as well as rid the cells and body of toxins.

Looking to add a little freshness to your home while improving air quality? How about adding a little greenery to your space. Plants are amazing because they nourish our bodies and help us breathe better. This article is full of great tips to help you choose the best air-purifying plants for your home. I’ll definitely be picking up a few for our place.

{Currently Savoring}

You NEED to make these paleo almond flour brownies. They’re made in small batch form, so there’s no guilt if you eat an extra brownie or two!

I’m also really loving this easy slow cooker Thai Peanut Chicken. It’s super easy to make and an awesome meal to come home to after a long day at work. It’s perfect for busy nights and even more perfect for leftovers and lunches. Who doesn’t love savory tender chicken packed in a slightly spicy and delicious peanut sauce? Yum!

{Currently Binge Watching}

Santa Clarita Diet is officially my new favorite show on Netflix. It stars Drew Barrymore and Timothy Olyphant who are married realtors, Sheila and Joel, living a quiet life, raising their teenage daughter in Santa Clarita, Calif. Their world unexpectedly changes when Sheila goes through a dramatic transformation that sends her down a road of death and destruction, but leaves her looking and feeling better than ever. It’s a must watch! Also, Walking Dead is back and I couldn’t be more excited!

{On My Wishlist}

I’m in love with this skirt. Also this beautiful dress. Ugh… can it be springtime already?

{Currently Reading}

I’m reading this book at the moment and it’s so good! If you liked Gone Girl and The Girl on the Train, I highly recommend this one. I hear they’re making it into a movie.

I recently picked up Kate Hudson’s new book Pretty Happy – Healthy Ways To Love Your Body, and I’m really into it. I’m learning so much about Ayurveda, the traditional science of Ayurvedic medicine designed to bring the body back into balance so it can heal itself. After completing the quizzes inside the book to figure out which type of dosha I am, the results really hit the nail on the head. There are some amazing resources at the end of the book, and I was able to find some great information on ways to improve my health and wellness based on my own individual stress levels, habits, personality traits, etc. I will definitely be researching Ayurveda further, and can’t wait to see where this path leads me on my personal health journey.

{Currently Loving}

If you love marzipan, amaretto, and just about anything that’s made with the deliciously sweet and nutty aroma of almonds, then you’ll love this body wash. It’s organic, fair trade, made with essential oils, doesn’t dry out your skin, and has no harsh chemicals. I mostly use it as a body wash, but it’s also a really great multipurpose product; you can also use it as shampoo, laundry detergent, or even as an all-purpose household cleaner. Bottom line, it’s really good stuff!

Last year I was diagnosed with cold urticaria, and with our Canadian winter being particularly harsh this year, I need to make sure I stay warm at all times, otherwise my allergies flare up and that is no bueno. With that in mind, I was on the hunt for a warm winter jacket, and I’m so glad that I picked up this TNA Brittania parka during the big Aritzia sale last fall. It’s super cozy and has done a wonderful job keeping me nice and toasty.

This little Bite Beauty Agave trio which consists of a lip balm, lip scrub, and lip mask is the only thing saving my dry chapped lips this winter. I love that it’s Canadian and made with natural ingredients. The items are sold separately and you can find them at Sephora.

Alright guys, that’s all I have for you today. I hope you all have an amazing weekend!

    Hey girl! Great post. I am happy to hear you are managing your life and doing more for your stress management. It’s hard sometimes to keep health a priority. I will definitely check out Kate Hudson’s book. Sounds great!

      Hey Chrissy! Thanks so much for your comment and for taking the time to read my post. It really means a lot! I have a tendency to get too caught up in things and not take care of myself as much as I should, so I am really trying to change that. I very much enjoyed Kate’s book and think you will too! You’ll have to let me know 🙂
